I am a Veteran.Shannon Don Stamps
August 8, 1965 - September 25, 2020

Shannon was born on August 8, 1965, in Pampa, TX, to William David Stamps & Dorothy Lou (Lowrance) Stamps. He was raised in Waldron, AR, where he spent a lot of time playing sports, working on the farm and exploring the woods with his three siblings and many cousins.

He served his country with pride in the U.S. Army Reserves and gave over 20 years to his work at Baldor Electric Company.

He spent most of his life in Van Buren, AR, raising his four wonderful children. He could often be found at the school or in the stands watching their sporting events or school performances. Shannon was a member of the First Baptist Church of Moscow Texas where he was actively involved in the worship services.

Shannon had a passion for the great outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time watching creation from his front porch. He loved music and was known to sing songs both well known and made up by him and his family. He also loved cooking and creating great meals in the kitchen or on the grill.

He was a proud PeaPaw to his two beautiful granddaughters, Brooklyn and Piper Stamps. He loved sharing stories of their milestones and achievements and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first grandson later this year.

Shannon was preceded in death by his mother, Lou Stamps. He is survived by father, David Stamps and wife Sally, son Alex Stamps and wife Emily, son Josef Stamps and girlfriend Cassie, daughter Sierra Lurvey and husband Jake, son McCarty Stamps and wife Ashley, granddaughters Brooklyn and Piper, sister Shelley Buckles and husband Walter, brother Bryan Stamps and wife Jeanann, sister Beverly Rush and husband Wayne, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date and Shannon will be laid to rest at Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Waldron Ar. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Houston.
