Margaret Anne Zimmer (Dove) was born on October 6, 1944, in Orange, TX. She went to be with her Lord on May 1, 2024, in Livingston, TX at the age of 79. She is preceded in death by the love of her life Earl Zimmer (Honey); her parents Woodrow Wilson Dove and Valerie Bryant; her sisters Judy Crawford and Charlotte Mason. Margaret is survived by her son Tracy Durr and wife Donna; daughter Natalie Elfstrom and husband John (Marty); and son Roy Durr; grandchildren Nicole Hamilton and husband Astin; Kyle Durr, Amanda Brown and husband Tyler, Dusty Durr and wife Miranda, Elijah Durr, Victoria Durr, Joshua Durr and Charity Durr; great grandchildren Collin Hamilton, Cadence Hamilton, Aubrey Sanchez, Hazel Durr and Harper Durr; brother Robert Dove; sisters Donna Lauman, Sharon Lapham and Alva Carey; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was an active member of Fairview Baptist Church in Woodville, TX. She made lots of friends there that she considered family. She loved helping at the community dinners, vacation bible school, and attending Sunday school. She had a variety of careers over her life. Early years she owned a small country store and a blue jean factory in Marthaville, LA. She was a manager at a t-shirt print shop in the mall in Shreveport, LA., worked for Sysco food service in Houston, drove big rig trucks in Florida, managed an apartment complex in Oklahoma, waited tables in Duson, LA (where she met Earl), and was an executive assistant for Chiles Offshore Corp. where she retired in 2009. Her most recent career for the last several years was working for Jackson Hewitt doing taxes. All her careers also came with lots of moving. While she has lived in lots of places, she always made each of them home. She was very talented and smart. Some of her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and collecting knickknacks (lots of Angels). She made clothes for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and several Barbies. She was so much fun, and she was an amazing cook. She loved the Lord and her family. Her huge heart and kind soul will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00 am at Fairview Baptist Church, 3025 FM 92 S, Woodville, TX |
