Charles Steven Ostendorf (Kye) was born September 24, 1962 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He passed away peacefully April 27, 2024 at the age of 61.
Kye attended school in Alvin Texas where he graduated in 1981 from Alvin Christian academy. The majority of his childhood years were spent in Alvin.
After graduating, Kye had several jobs but one afforded him the opportunity to move to Colorado to work for True Value Distribution Center. Kye loved the mountain life.
He then moved to Arkansas to work at Tyson Foods.
For the past 13 years he's been a resident at the Bradford at Brookside in Livingston, Texas. Kye made several good friends here. He still enjoyed all of his outings whether it was a simple car ride out to the lake or just going out to eat with family and friends.
Kye loved all things outdoor; snowmobiling, camping, fishing, barbecuing. He had a love for the mountains, animals and nature. But Kye's true passion was his love for motorcycles. He was truly the happiest when he was riding his Harley.
Kye is survived by his mother Ruby Ostendorf, his sister Cassie Hooker and her husband Chris. His 2 nieces Autumn Hart and her husband Jeremy, and his niece Alessa Broadway. He has 2 great nieces and 3 great nephews plus one great, great nephew on the way. Kye loved kids and he dearly loved all of his great nieces and great nephews. I know they will miss him.
Kye is preceded in death by his father Herman Ostendorf; Grandparents Ethel and George Oliver and grandparents Herman and Eunice Ostendorf.
A Graveside Service for Kye will be held at 11:00a, Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Garden of Memories Memorial Park, in Lufkin, Texas, with Brother Mike Loftin Officiating.
