David Clinton Strahan, of Batson, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2026. He was born on November 8, 1959, in Kountze, Texas, to Chloe Jan Strahan and Jack Strahan. David spent his life in the place he called home — Batson, Texas. David worked as a welder and was known for being hardworking, dependable, and always willing to help others. He lived a simple life and found joy in the things he loved most. David enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at home “piddling around,” always staying busy. He also had a big heart for his fur babies and loved caring for them — Sadie, Ellie, and Bob. David is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lana Strahan; his son, David Strahan Jr. and wife Candie; grandsons, Caleb and Jacob; granddaughter, Hudson Strahan; his mother, Chloe Jan Strahan; his mother-in-law, Gloria Payne; his sister, Toni Strahan; his sister-in-law, Paula Stanley and her spouse, Glen; his sister-in-law, Kayla Parker and her spouse, Seth; his brother-in-law, Kyle Payne and his spouse, Cassy; his precious aunt, Alice Faye Jacobs; his cousin and best friend, Terry Jacobs; special neighbors and friends, Will Ard and Robert Willis; and numerous nieces and nephews. David is preceded in death by his father, Jack Strahan; his son, Brandon Hinklin; his father-in-law, Billy Ray Singleton; and his brother-in-law, Aaron Singleton. David will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
