David Amad, a devoted father and passionate Second Amendment advocate, passed away on June 24, 2025.
As Vice President of Open Carry Texas, David was instrumental in advancing the organization's mission through events like the Odessa Rally and Olmos Park Protest, helping secure open, campus, and unlicensed carry rights in Texas.
Known for his courage and integrity and his competence in verbal judo, as seen in his defense of the Alamo, he leaves a lasting legacy on everyone with whom he came in contact.
David was preceded in death by his son, Jake Mortenson, wife, Jennifer Mortenson, and father, Joe Widner.
He is survived by his son, David Glaze; mother, Mary Widner; brothers, Joe (Paula) Widner, and James Gunnels Sr.; bonus kids, Nick, Shelby, Trey and Will; along with family and friends.
His greatest wish was to be laid to rest beside his son Jake. Rest in peace, David, a true Texas patriot. |
