Graveside services for Albert William Freitag, Jr, age 80, were held Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 3:00 PM at Grand View Cemetery in Pasadena, Texas. Mr. Jerry Thompson officiated. Visitation was held from 10:00 to 12:00 AM, before the services.
Mr. Freitag passed away September 9, 2008 at his residence in Livingston. He was born October 12, 1927 in Galveston, Texas to Albert William Freitag, Sr. and Jewel Valrie Fowler Freitag. He had two older sisters; Jewel Bueckman and Esther Engelking now in a Nursing home.
Albert grew up in Wallis, Texas where he was a Life Scout. After Graduation from high school, he volunteered for military duty with the U.S. Navy. He served not only active duty, but also in the reserves.
He married Essie Pauline Sawyer in 1950 and had three children; Paulette, Jeanne and Royce. He has four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Albert retired from Shell Deer Park in 1984. While living in Deer Park, Albert spent many years a volunteer in the fire department there. He always enjoyed the mini vacations and long changes while camping at Red Bug Ranch or sight-seeing all over the U.S. with his family.
After retirement, Albert fulfilled his dream of going back to visit the location where he
Was a mine sweeper while serving in the Navy.
Preceding him in death are his Father and Mother and his sister Jewel Bueckman.
