Ruth M. Butler 84, of Livingston passed away at Southwest Herman Memorial hospital on Friday August 3, 2007. Funeral services will be held Sunday August 5, 2007 at 3:00pm in the Pace Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the Midway Cemetery with Rev. Harold Isaacs conducting the committal service. Visitation will be held Saturday August 4, 2007 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Pace Funeral Home.
Mrs. Butler was a member of the Soda Baptist Church. She enjoyed being a member of a local gospel group that went around to different nursing homes singing and visiting with the residents. Mrs. Butler also enjoyed fishing, hunting and most of all cooking for her family. Most of all she is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and devoted to her church and had a tremendous love for Jesus.
Mrs. Butler is preceded in death by her father and mother Archie and Olivia Gibson Adams, husband Douglas Butler, brother Alfred Adams and grandson Justin.
She is survived by her loving family, sons Leo Butler and wife Sandra, Cleo Butler and wife Karen, and Jerry Butler and wife Frances, daughters Patsy Locke and husband Edward Joe Boy, and Sherry Yontz and husband Greg. Grandchildren Lettie, Paula, John, Doug, Christina, Dana and Gregory, great grandchildren Kelsey, Blake, Cortney, Magen, Dalton, Miranda, Kassie and Mikeh. Six step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren also survive her.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jared Munson, Ray Nelson, Bubba Nelson, Curt Fredigill, Brain Massey, and Greg Hightower.
