June 21, 1939 - December 28, 2019

Bennie Gene Clamon Sr.
June 21, 1939- December 28, 2019.

Mr. Clamon, 80, of Livingston, Tx. joyously entered heaven on Saturday, December 28, 2019.
We believe God welcomed him with open arms saying, “well done my good and faithful servant.”
Even though we miss him dearly, we know he is rejoicing with the saints in heaven, dancing on the streets of gold, in his new body.

While on earth, he was called to preach at the age of fifteen and continued to do so throughout his life. He served his country by joining the Navy at the age of seventeen. He loved boats and ships, fishing and just being out on the water. After finishing his tour in the Navy, he worked at various jobs, including working in the oil industry. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family. He believed God should be first in one’s life and the center of one’s marriage. He believed the most important thing one could ever do is accept Jesus Christ as personal savior. Although he did not always preach from a pulpit, he never missed the opportunity to tell people about the hope of Jesus Christ. Perhaps he spent so many years with physical disabilities because he could reach more lives having the health problems he endured. He witnessed to every person he met: every doctor, nurse, aide, physical therapist, cleaning person, and roommate. He spent a lot of time in hospitals and nursing homes the last few years of his life. He was preaching up a storm during that time. Now, he’s in heaven singing praises to his Lord, that he loved so much.
We can picture him dancing, jumping, and praising God in his new body. We believe that’s what he’s doing now.
The grieving is our selfish flesh not wanting to let go of the man we love , but our hearts know, he’s finally well again, and he is where he has wanted to be for a long time.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents George Washington Clamon and Sarah Ann Irvin Clamon, William Jefferson Herrington and Hattie Octavia Hendrix Herrington, his parents Fred D. Clamon and Lillie Mae Herrington Clamon, and his brother-in-law Wayne Starr.

Mr. Clamon is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years and seven months, Cynthia Jane Roberts Clamon, who he referred to as his Baby Doll and also his “tempest in a tea cup.” He is also survived by his children Bennie Gene (Chip) Clamon Jr (Kathy), Aletha Suzette (Suzi) Cole (Greg), and Athena Gayle (Tena) Martin (Brett),
