Erline Hamil, born July 1, 1936 to Ernst and Erna Haas in Houston, Texas went to be with Our Father in Heaven on April 5, 2019. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ronald Hamil; sons Daniel Hamil and wife Sharla, Dean Hamil and wife Rhonda, daughter Doris Armstrong; sister Rosalee Mueller; grandchildren Ryan Hamil, Travis Hamil, Megan Griffith and Connor Armstrong; great granddaughters, Kameryn Hamil and Kinsley Hamil; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
She was born in St. Joseph Hospital in Houston TX. She graduated high school from Houston Reagan in 1954 and then attended Texas Lutheran college from 1954-1955. Erline started work at Shell Development in 1956 and met her husband there in 1958. They were happily married on May 29, 1959 at Grace Lutheran Church in Houston TX.
She worked at Exxon from 1959-1960. From 1960 to 1973 she was a loving and devoted stay at home mom to her three children and her husband. Ron and Erline owned Hamil’s Mens Store from 1973-1983 where they worked closely together. While living in Friendswood Erline was actively involved in Hope Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and volunteered in many activities. She worked at Community National Bank for 12 years. In 1996 they moved from Friendswood to Livingston in a home they designed and built together. Erline was active in the First United Methodist Church with involvement in her Sunday School class and played in the Silver Bells Group. She also enjoyed her bowling league and playing bridge with her many friends. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 8, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Reverend Brian Waddell officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The Wounded Warriors Project or Music Department at First United Methodist Church Livingston.
