Georgie Marie Hughes, 85, of Livingston, Texas passed away on July 4, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born in Shiner, Texas, on October 26, 1940, to the late Ernest Kral Sr. and Annie Kral. Georgie spent her early years in the close-knit Kral household before building a beautiful life in Livingston, Texas, where she lived for the last forty years.

Georgie is preceded in death by her siblings Ernest Kral Jr, Ann Schreiber, Dennis Kral, Jim Kral, and Joe Kral, her brothers in law Harvey Schreiber and AJ Cerny, her sister in law Cindy Kral, and her granddaughter Brooke Hatton.

Georgie married Gary Hughes on December 9, 1994, and together they built a blended family rooted in faith, tradition, and deep connection. She is survived by her husband Gary, her children Terry Vogt (DeLeah) of Porter, Texas, Duane Vogt (Barbara) of Porter, Texas, and Dana Rosenthal (Rick) of Livingston, Texas, her stepchildren Jay Todd Hughes (Holly) of Onalaska, Texas, and Allan Hughes (Shawna) of Onalaska, Texas, her grandchildren Brittany Hemberger (Daniel), Kelsey Hagendorf, Tracie Kamenoff (Lee), Jaron Hughes (Jaycie), Allison Bartholomew (Christian), Kristen Rosenthal, Brayson Hughes, Madison Vogt, Kara Rosenthal, Mallory McWhorter, Case Hughes, Colton Hughes, and Joshua Hughes, her 17 great grandchildren, her sisters Angie Paramore (Ron) and Jan Cerny, her sister-in-law Sandie Schreiber, and numerous nieces and nephews who brought her endless joy.

Georgie lived a life defined by devotion—to her family, her faith, and her community. She was a founding member of the Catholic Daughters at St. Joseph Catholic Church, an organization she cherished deeply, which has now grown to 77 members. She also worked for 14 years at the Livingston Telephone Company, where she was known for her kindness, reliability, and ability to make anyone feel welcome. Georgie never met a stranger; she had a gift for making people feel seen and cared for.

Her happiest moments were simple and full of life: dancing, fishing, gardening, swimming in the lake, watching sunsets, and gathering with her family and friends for every holiday—no celebration was ever too small for Georgie. She was a caregiver by nature, faithful in spirit, and the steady heart of her family.

The Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. A vigil will begin at 5:30 PM and the Rosary will follow at 6:00 PM.

"Ms. Georgie was one a person could count on and worked with her and Gary at Livingston Telephone. Enjoyed every minute of it; fine people and always seemed to be concerned about a person and what was going on in their lives. They cared.

She will be missed; can hope that someone could possibly replace her that is as capable as she was in the area of caring.

Thanks,

"

"There has never been a finer lady than Georgie. She treated me like a friend from the first time I met her, and was cherished by all who were blessed with knowing her. She was, and will remain, an icon for the Pinwah Pine community. To Gary, Dana, Rick and all her loving family, I am so very sorry for the loss of this special lady. She will not be forgotten."
