"Sam Kunneman is an asshole who uses excessive force."

"Dear Lisa, Grant, Sam & Travis,
Just wanted you to know that we are thinking of you, and that we have been reflecting on what a great person Brett has been. He was a role model for standing up for what you believe in. He was a person that would go out of his way to help folks that are in need. He had a sense of humor that was a lot of fun. But most of all, he was a gentle, caring and loving person. We are truly so sorry for your loss, but all the good memories will live on. All our love, Rick & Sojin King"

"Brett (or Mr. Kunnemann, as I knew him for most of my life) was an absolute firecracker, no doubt about it. When Grant and I grew up doing Cub and Boy Scouts together, both Lisa and Brett were very active leaders. It's hard to express how much I appreciate them both for being guides in my young life. I know the Scouts (and other dads!) were always stoked to have Brett along on any camping trips - he knew his stuff, eagerly helped anyone who needed it, and everyone knew we were in for plenty of laughs. Thankful that my parents and the Kunnemanns have remained connected since Grant and I graduated high school. Sending my most heartfelt sympathies and condolences to Lisa, Travis, Sam, and Grant. Brett was one of a kind, and he will be sorely missed by many."
