David Cruz Perez, at 75 years of age, peacefully ascended into Heaven, at the home he loved on Lake Livingston, on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

David was born on January 10, 1945 in Houston, Texas to parents Hipolito & Nicolasa Perez. He was the third oldest of six children. Two brothers preceded his death: Paul and Donald Perez and son-in-law Rudy.

David is survived by his wife of 50 years Rose Marie; daughters: Romi, Sandy, Deanna and son; Kevin and grandchildren: Alyssa, Gabriel, Roman, Luke, Jackson, Danielle, Tiffany and Anthony and great grandchildren: Ariel and Adeline; sisters: Agnes and Terry and brother; Ruben, and son-in-law Tracy and daughter-in-law Myrla.

David graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, TX. He served honorably in the US Army 1965-1967 as a radio teletype cryptographer in Chateauroux France and Nuremberg Germany. For 35 years he was a loyal hardworking employee of Van Leer Flexibles where he headed up the Research and Development division.

David was a faithful Catholic, parishioner and usher for St. Joseph Catholic Church. He had a giving spirit and would help anyone. He loved spending time visiting with family and friends, especially at his lake house barbecuing, fishing, listening to music and telling stories around the bonfire at night. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities, especially baseball games. He was a loyal Houston Oiler, Astro and Texans fan. He was very loved.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
