"There was a short time in my life when this one of a kind man called me friend When he lived in Houston late 70s and early 80s he was harris county sherriff at the time he treated all his neighbors with great care always working on old cars. even rebuilt a few carbs for me always kept his police bike in showroom floor condition. he was the real mccoy as my dear ole dad would say miss Rosie and family my condolences to you and all. He truly was a man that I would still to this day look up to and have a great respect for ."

"Dear Rosie and family: I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Harolds passing. My deepest sympathy to you and the children and grandchildren. If ever two people met their soul mate it was you and Harold....I always thought the world of you both and hope God will watch over and protect you all. Love and prayers, Janice"
