Ruthie Geraldine Cole, born May 14, 1923 to Thomas and Nellie (Stokes) Nelson in Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away on April 4, 2018 in Longview, Texas, at the age of 94 years.
Ruth’s loving family includes; son, Larry Van Cole Tidwell; daughters, Sharon Cole Hocut and Gale Cole Creel; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Thomas Lafayette and Nellie America Stokes Nelson; brothers, William Richard “Floyd” Nelson, Johnny D. Nelson; sisters, Onie Bell Tidwell, Myrtle Lee McNeil, Frances Delilah Emmanuel, Uretha Bruce, Ruby Ivy; granddaughter, Julia Denise Creel-Hunt.
A Visitation will be held on April 7, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to Service. Celebration of Ruth’s life will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Larry Cole Tidwell officiating. A private interment to follow at the Isabel Chapel Cemetery in Mount Enterprise, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Trinity Masonic Lodge #14 AF&AM, Livingston, Texas.
