Helen OConnor, age 75, of Livingston, Texas, passed away Feb. 13, 2009. She was born in Queens, New York to Kenneth and Helen McElhinney, whom precede her in death, along with her brother Charles. She was married to Robert OConnor in 1957 and they lived in Albertson and Hampton Bays, New York before they relocated to Livingston in 2005.
Helen was an active member in the Hampton Bays Beautification Association and also operation Cat, and animal rescue program in New York. She was also an active member in the Womans auxiliary and the Indian Hills Civic Association in Livingston, Texas.
Her survivors include her husband of fifty-one years, Robert J. OConnor; sons, Timothy and wife Lianna of New York and Michael of Alaska. Grandchildren, Christopher, Sean and Michael, sister, Patricia Laurora; brother, Kenneth McElhinney; many nieces and nephews.
Helen always lent a helping hand and there was nothing to big or to small she wouldnt do. She will be missed by all that loved her.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2009, at St. Josephs Catholic Church, at 11:00 A.M. There will be a family gathering at the Indian Hills Civic Club following. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a local SPCA or no Kill shelter.
