Cecil H. Higgs was born February 16, 1921 and went to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2009. His favorite hobbies were gardening and fishing. Mr. Higgs was a member of Wildwood Gospel Church.
Cecil is survived by his loving wife Bessie Thomas Higgs of 12 years; son, Robert A. Higgs; sisters, Patricia Ogura of Houston, Mary Jo Williams of Cleveland; brothers, Walter Nel Thomas and wife Marsha of Weimer, Charles L. Thomas and wife Gloria of Houston; stepchildren, Dorothy Jeffers of Oakdale, La., Wanda Lopez of Houston, John Willis of Splendora, Joe Willis of Channelview, James Gassiott, Jr. of New Caney and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Faye Higgs; son, Cecil H. Higgs, Jr.; sister, Bernice McDonald; brothers, Oakland Higgs and Jack Higgs.
The Funeral service was held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Pace Funeral Home. The visitation with the family was from 6-9 PM, Monday. Officiating the service was Bro. Dennis Hodge, Bro. Earl Faust, and Bro. Max Wells. Burial was in Carlisle Cemetery.
