James Douglas Phillips was born on April 12, 1928 and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 14, 2009. He worked several years as a machine operator for Montgomery County. Mr. Phillips was a member of Dacus Baptist Church in Dacus, TX.
James is survived by his loving wife, Nadia of 59 years; sons, Jim Phillips and wife Sheila of Odessa, TX, Doug Phillips and wife Jennifer of Livingston, TX, Paul Phillips of Dallardsville, TX, Denny Phillips and wife Mary Lynn of Conroe, TX, Rick Phillips and wife Alana of Dallardsville, TX, Steve Phillips and wife Dawn of Montgomery, TX; daughters, Denese Lambright and husband Kenneth of Dallardsville, TX, Dianne Murphy and husband Patrick of Segno, TX, Sharon Cain and husband Lloyd of Livingston, TX, Kat Phillips and husband Tod of Montgomery, TX,; fifty grandchildren, Jennifer Scribner, Jim and Ann Phillips, Jessica Phillips, Jeremy and Amanda Phillips, Brandon Smotherman, Cassandra Smotherman, Eric and Erica Phillips, Stephanie Phillips, David Campbell, Deven Campbell, Charles and Sara Babcock, Mike Campbell, Gilbert and Melissa Leal, Robert and Dacia Leslie, Bubba Johnson, Curtis and Carrie Lambright, Bill and Tina Walker, Shelly and Todd Grissell, Shawn and Amanda Phillips, Kyle Phillips, Scott and Marcey Phillips, Angela and Adam Jones, Taylor Phillips Holly Phillips, Alisha Overland and Scott King, Laura Needham, Lance Needham and Amber Griffin, Lloyd Cain, Chesney Cain and Ryan Cote, Samantha Cain, Khoury Phillips, Trent Phillips, Keaton Phillips, Kayla Phillips, Katlyn Phillips and Kameron Phillips; thirty four great grandchildren, Justin, Gage, McKenzie, Saidee, Tyler, Trey, Jameson, John, Evon, Damion, Kirsten, Junior, Savanna, K.D., Ashlyn, Zach, Bryce, Brandon, Macie, Jacob, John, Caleb, Aaron, Lexi, Ayden, Jalen, Bryce, Kinsley, Jared, Kacie, Justice, Neil, Levi, and Drelan, and numerous nieces and nephews; he is also survived by one brother, Bobbie Lewis Phillips and wife Dorothy of Trinity, TX.
Mr. Phillips is preceded in death by his parents, Willard Elisha and Jennie Laura Phillips; brothers, Arlen Royce, Willard Edward, Earl Leroy, Don Curtis, and Ralph Eugene Phillips; sisters, Lucille Jenkins and Vida Farmer.
The memorial service was held Tuesday,
February 17, 2009, at Pace Funeral Home,
