Sammie Ruth Hughes, a member of the Chickasaw
Tribe, passed away January 15th at 3:10 A.M., at Memorial Medical Center in Livingston. She was born February 18th, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Ok. to George Edward Richmond Love and Belva Elizabeth Walker, who preceded her in death. She was an RN and had worked in the Nursing Industry.
She is survived by her husband Patrick J. Hughes, three sons: Jay Hurst and wife Beverly of Austin, Bruce Hurst of Pasadena, Michael Hughes and wife Kathy of St. Louis, Mo; three daughters: Carolyn Cox and husband Ronald, Darlene Granger and husband Curly of North Carolina, Victoria Laurado and husband Larry of Slidell, Louisiana, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. One son, Philip Hurst, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 16th from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. in the Pace Funeral Home Chapel with services Saturday, January 17th, at 10:30 A.M., in the Pace Funeral Home Chapel.
