"Lots of fond memories growing up going to Galveston with the family and staying with Uncle Buck and Bernice in Clute. I remember the smell of his pipe. He will be greatly missed.

"My parents thought a lot of Uncle Buck as they named me after him. Lots of fun times at Clute growing up and staying at Buck and Bernice's."

"Great Uncle Buck was always a favorite for the 4 of us kids when we would go on vacation to the beach during our childhood. I know that Buck was the favorite uncle to our father, Bill Clay. We all remember those visits fondly and loved the warmth and laughter of the entire family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always."
