Rev. John Thomas Sample died October 16, 2006. Services will be held Thurday October 19, 2006 at 10:00AM in the Pace Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a burial in the Turner Branch Cemetery in Spruger at 3:00PM. Visitation was heldBRWednesday October 18, 2006 from 6pm until 9pm at Pace Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Glen Mead, Rev. Don Wilson, and Rev. Joe Paul Grandbury. John was employed by HumbleExon Oil and Refinery Company for 31 years and also was a ordained minister wtih the Assemblies of God. He first served as a pastor in Magnolia, Texas and also later served in several churches in the Splendora and Cleveland areas. After serving many years in the South Texas District of the Assemblies of God, he also served in the Louisiana District Counsil.BRHe is preceeded in death by his son Thomas Leon Sample, and his parents Frank and Ida Sample.BRJohn is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Susie Winkle Sample, sons Bob Sample and wife Frances,and Earl Sample and his wife Norma, his daughters Sue Pate and her husband Morris, and Wanda Parnell and her husband Sonny, and hisBRsister Freddie Stimat, 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildrend , and 6 great great grandchildren.BRBR
