"When I think of Buddy , I can hear DY NO MITE! or SOCK-IT-TO-ME!....those two sayings may have faded out thru the years, but not for Buddy. Buddy was as much a part of Jaggers and Bessie Overstreet's bunch as what he was to his own. I would wake to the smell of bore hog in the early mornings when (Buddy, Stack and Pook , Daddy and Uncle Clyde or Uncle Spudd) had gone on a hog killing. They'would bring it in for Momma (or to Leecie) to cook to see if it was ediable. If they killed them young enough the smell could be overlooked and we would be up wrapping the meat with freezer paper the next morning. One particular time they were out in the old garage out back and had the door down. I just happened to get up and went to see where Momma was. When I opened the door Momma said to get back to bed they were skinning a deer an I said to Momma THAT AIN'T NO DEER. Come to find out Deek Jones had ran over Snooper (Daddy's favorite hog dog) a few days earlier and had killed him. The whole bunch was in on it to get him back so they killed Deek Jones's COW! It's safe to tell the story now. Buddy was the last connection to my Daddy, they were rebels in their own time. And there will never be anyone that could come close to their legacy. You know how when you smell a certain smell and it floods you with memories. I'll cry to the smell of a bore hog to this day.......with much love xoxoxo"

"It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you never went alone,
for a part of us went with you,
the day god took you home.
A million times we missed you,
A million times we cried,
If love could have saved you,
you never would have died.
To the grave you travel,
Our flowers placed with care,
No-one knows the heartache,
as we turn to leave you there.
If tears could build a stairway,
and memories could make a lane,
we would walk right up to heaven,
and bring you home again.

Rest in Peace Pappaw. We love you."
