Funeral Services for Elfriede Marie Herbener Cole, 92, of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Ed Jennings officiating.
Mrs. Cole was born September 21, 1922, in Frankfurt, Germany, and passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, at home in Ace, Texas.
Elfriede was born and raised in Frankfurt Germany. After surviving the destruction of WWII, she came to the United States at age 39 and obtained her U.S. citizenship. Living in Corpus Christi, Texas, she met and married her late husband, Raymond Cole. She and Raymond were married 31 years until his passing in 1994. Elfriede was a loving wife and mother who touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness and generosity.
Elfriede is survived by her daughter, Tammy Cole Johnson and husband, Russell Johnson, of Livingston, Texas; sister, Hella Westbrook of Austin, Texas, and two grandchildren, Joseph C. Johnson and Melissa N. Johnson, both of Livingston, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Julious Cole, and parents, Heinz and Therese Herbener.
