Funeral services for Bernice L. Todd, age 89, were held Monday, June 23, 2008 at Pace Funeral Home, with Rev. Lindale Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in Restland Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
Mrs. Todd passed away Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Pine Ridge Health Care Center in Livingston, Texas.
Mrs. Todd was born in Fargo, Oklahoma, March 29, 1919 to Jess and Nellie Hendren Bennett, whom precede her in death. Also preceding her in death are her two sons, Howard R. Shapley and Jack L. Shapley: a daughter Nelda Shanks; two brothers; Glenn Bennett and Bill Bennett and one sister Leia Fordice.
Mrs. Todd was a seamstress, loved to cook, and was a wonderful mother and wife.
Her survivors include her husband Elbert D. Buck Todd, sons; Gary J. Todd and wife Evelyn from Angleton, Doyle L. Todd from Cleveland, daughters; Gwen Wilson and husband James P. from Livingston; Martha G. Blackerby and husband Stan from Cleveland; Doylene Allen and husband Dwayne from Angleton. four sisters; Lois Callaway, Kathy Jester, Bets Summerall and Irene Phillips. Twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Pace Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
