George Delbert Handy Sr, 65 of Rye passed away Tuesday September 4, 2007 in Livingston at the Memorial Medical Center. Grave side services will be held Thursday September 6, 2007 at The Houston National Cemetery at 1:45PM with Bro. David Jones officiating. Military honors will be given by the US Army. Visitation will be held Wednesday September 5, 2007 from 5pm until 9pm in the Pace Funeral Home chapel.
Mr. Handy is preceded in death by his father Earl Handy, son Michael Handy, brothers Freddy and Jackie Black, and his grandson Steven Eugene Handy II. He is survived by his wife Doris Handy, mother Lillie Odom, sons David Paul Handy, George Handy Jr., Thomas Handy, Steven Handy, Wendell Handy, and his daughter Tammy Bryant, brothers Jerry Black, Patrick Handy, and Bill Handy, sisters Gloria Dromgoole, Shirley Oneal, Sandy McCollum, and Marlyn Britton. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren and a host of family and extended family.
