Funeral services for Merlie Floyd Hood, age 79, of Trinity, Texas, were held Monday, April 9th, at Pace Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. Visitation was Sunday evening from 3:00 P.M to 6:00 P.M.
He was a member of the Carlisle Baptist Church, Brother Charles Goodson, officiated the services and interment followed in Peebles Cemetery.
Mr. Hood was born in Tyronsea, Arkansas, October 12, 1927.
Mr. Hood stayed active and loved to fish and do gardening. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Elthia Martin Hood and Charley James Hood. His two brothers; Charlie Hood and Clarence Hood, two sisters; Jessie Hood Schoolfield, and Flora Hood Reams and one Great-granddaughter, Haleigh Simpson. His wife Christine Hood.
His survivors are his son Travis Cargle and wife Twila and his daughter; Wanda Wilson and husband Dale. His sisters Dealie Walcott, Lois Calvert and Geneva Watson. Grandchildren; Raymond Conley, Sherlyl Kattner, Ace Glenn Teal.. Great-granddchildren; Shawn Conley, Brittney Kattner and Bailey Simpson.
