Patricia Pat Smith, beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter aunt and friend, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010 after battling cancer for the last 3 years. A longtime resident of Livingston, Texas, Pat was born November 17, 1953 in Memphis, Tennessee to parents Harold and Imogene Shell. She was married to her loving spouse Jesse Smith for almost 28 years. In recent years, Pat enjoyed her time as a homemaker and fulltime Mom to 7 year old daughter, Jessica. In the rare moments when she was not doting on her daughter, Pat enjoyed reading romance novels, shopping, gambling and traveling, frequently visiting Vegas and Louisiana. Pat was very outgoing, known for living life on her terms and speaking her mind. Her family is somewhat comforted in knowing that Pat has joined her sister, Sue Marks, as they have both gone to play with the angels and watch over us from above. Pat is survived by her loving husband Jesse Smith daughter, Jessica Ann stepdaughter, Mandy Carol Smith mother, Imogene Shell siblings, and their spouses, Buster Shell, Larry Marks, Danny and Karen Riess, Gary Shell, and Pam Cain and Wendy Vaughn and Wesley Boone nieces and nephews, Wesley, Amy, Beth, Amanda, Bryan, Scott, Jeni, Steven, Tim, Angela, John Paul, Michael, Chance, Korey, Brandon, Hunter, Brianna, Alyssa, Emma, Avery, Christian, Macayla, Charlotte and Gianna. Pat was admired for her long battle with cancer and will be missed by her numerous family and friends. The visitation for the family will be held 69 PM, Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Pace Funeral Home. A Celebration of Pats life will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 4, 2010, with Bro. Harold Isaac officiating, inurnment will be in the VA Houston Cemetery.
