"Bob Koening was indeed a great man. The world may judge greatness by a different standard, but by the standard that counts he was the best of men. In a world with facades shielding the reality of who some men are, Bob was REAL. He worked hard, cared deeply, and loved much. He was always wise in his counsel and caring in passing that counsel along to others. He was always loyal as a friend. He befriended those who had oftern been counted out by society. He was a mans man, and yet had the common touch that made him accessible to all. He was respected and loved by many, especially those who had the privilege to know him in a close, personal way. I was privileged to be one of those and will treasure all my memories of time spent with him days fishing, clearning property, taking walks in country settings, sharing holiday times and meals together. The mold was broken when they made Bob. And the world is poorer because of his passing. May God bless and have mercy on us all."
