On October 23rd, 2009, our shining star, James Patrick O'Hara, conceded his last breath to a relentless enemy. His 2 year 4 month battle with pancreatic cancer was fought with courage, faith, hope and determination that was inspiring. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Joseph O'Hara, mother Mary Latham Lees, brothers Joel, Walter and John Hettiger. He is survived by Cathy O'Hara, his devoted and loving wife of 27 years, brother Bill, and daughters: Maureen, Colleen and her husband Kelly, Shannon and her husband Roy, step-son, Blake and his wife Alicia, step-daughter Tosha, mother-in-law Jeannie, sister-in-law Sharon and her husband Eloy, grandchildren Sean, Chris, Amber, Ashley, Brittany, Erin, Emily, Ban, Hunter, Tatianna, Branden, great grandchildren Aerial and Laila, his faithful dog Bandy and numerous other extended family members and friends.

Jim's career in the petro-chemical industry spanned 42 years. He loved his profession and all who were lucky enough to know him would tell you that his positive attitude was infectious. Jim's greatest love was of his family and friends and this tradition will be carried on by his wife and children. Jim and Cathy's relationship was a beautiful example of true love. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who helped during this struggle, especially Dr. Wolff and Debbie Jones and staff at SWDS.

"Words cannot explain how much I will miss Jim. I was so glad that he was able to make the benefit of Sept. 12. He told me that he wouldnt have missed it for the world. He was there because he wanted to be, not because he had to. If you need anything at all, please dont hesitate to call.
