Known simply as ''Bill'' to those who loved him, he lived life on his own terms and never met a stranger for long. He spent years operating equipment and as a truck driver hauling timber.
When Bill wasn't working, he loved the outdoors. Fishing, camping, and hunting brought him peace, and he treasured the time spent enjoying the great outdoors. He also had a fun-loving side, Friends would often say Bill liked to ''kick up his heels,'' enjoying an evening of dancing and good company. His warm smile, easygoing nature, and zest for life made him someone that people enjoyed being around.
In his final days, Bill found comfort in the company of his dear friend, David Stanley in Onalaska, Texas, whom he considered a brother. Their friendship was a blessing and a source of strength during his last chapter.
Bill was of the Pentecostal faith background.
He was preceded in death by his father, William ''Red'' Thadious Stewart; his mother, Martha Stewart; his daughter, LaMonica Stewart; and his son, Travis Stewart.
He is survived by his sisters, Rose Mary Bear and Pamela Sizemore, along with extended family, lifelong friends, and all whose lives were touched by his laughter, and friendship.
Bill will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his years working, and his enjoyment of life's simple pleasures. Though he has departed this earthly life, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Memorial service will be held under the pavilion at Felps Cemetery in Thicket, Texas at 11:00 am on Saturday July 25th.
