David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a quiet person, and he was devoted to his family. He loved life and being outdoors, enjoyed fishing and collecting guns and knives. He gave 30 years of service to Houston Lighting and Power and then went to work in IT for Livingston ISD for 18 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Margaret Buffington.
His family left to Cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years Brenda Mayr Buffington, his seven children; Christine Buffington Graham & husband Miles Graham, Wendy Buffington Bessell & husband David Bessell, Rachel Buffington Tabor, Michael Buffington, Matthew Buffington, Mary Buffington, and Rose Buffington, thirteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, and his sister Cinda Buffington Woodard & husband Dan Woodard and their children.
Family will receive friends 5:00pm - 8:00pm, Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Pace Funeral Home, 200 FM 350 N., Livingston, Texas 77351. With a Rosary to begin at 6:00pm.
Final Committal of David's Life will be 11:00am Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7801 Gulf Fwy, Dickinson, Texas 77359. With Father Francis Miller OFM officiating.
