Elizabeth Ione Creel, born May 22, 1949 in Cleveland, Texas, passed away on January 23, 2021 in Livingston, Texas at the age of 71 years.

She is survived by her son, Clayton Wayne Creel & wife Nixa; daughters, Cheryl Lynn Moffett & husband Kenny, Shelly Annette Traxler & husband Brad; sisters, Melinda Campisi & husband Rocky, Sonja Lambright & husband James; grandchildren, Andy Moffett, Taylor Moffett, Tiffany Moffett, Landon Creel, Ashton Creel, Cameron Creel, Ethan Traxler, Kristan Traxler; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Ione is preceded in death by her husband, Bennett Franklin Creel; parents, Jw & Viola Murphy.
She dedicated 36 years of teaching, volunteering and mentoring the students of Big Sandy. She was a no nonsense teacher who wanted her students to all be successful and reach their full potential.

She was a steward for God and a pillar of the Big Sandy Baptist Church who served and put others before herself. She volunteered with the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts of America for many years.
Her passion was planning road trips and seeing the world. She was able to take each of her grandkids on their Senior trip while battling Cancer.
Her battle with Cancer did not stop her from living the life God gave her.
Her strength, courage, love, peace, kindness, dignity and joy came from her faith in following God's directions for her life. This is what she made sure we all knew and saw in her; God's love, salvation and faith.

In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to the Purple and White Scholarship Program, P.O. Box 188, Dallardsville, Tx 77332. Make checks payable to Big Sandy ISD in the Memo write Purple & White Scholarship.

A Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 27, 2021 with a Graveside Services beginning at 2:00 PM at Big Sandy Cemetery with Pastors, Tom Dobbs, Chris Knox & Quentin Mathews officiating.
