Louise Currie was born May 29, 1932 in Pineland, Texas, and passed away Saturday September 19, 2020 at her residence in Corrigan, Texas. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and an extremely proud great great grandmother to her 5th generation and took great pride in being called "Gran Gran", as well as a very faithful friend to many.
Louise was self- employed; she established a Fireworks business in the late 60's which she owned and operated for seven decades; she also established The Roller Rink in the late 70's. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, served as a board member at the Corrigan Nutrition Center, as well as the Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church, where she was active in her faith.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Earnest Broaddus, David Currie; father, Emory Cooper; mother, Estelle Hayes; daughter-in-law, Sandra Broaddus, and great grandson, Justin Ray Grimes.
She is survived by her son, David Broaddus Sr. and wife Lawinda of Huntington; daughter, Judy Broaddus of Corrigan; grandchildren, David Broaddus Jr. of Pollok; Sharon Grimes and husband Bobby of Corrigan; Michele Lightsey of Corrigan; Jonathan Terrell and wife Jennifer of Diboll; great grandchildren Kayla and Kelsey Grimes of Corrigan; Korie Alvis and husband Brandon of Etoile; Megan Suggs and husband Joshua of Hudson; Ashley Crawford and husband Ben of Groveton; Shelby Guerra and husband Justin of Cypress, Seth Broaddus of Huntington and Jacey Terrell of Diboll; great great grandchildren, Paisley Allen, Alex Crawford, Amoray Crawford, Brooklynn Tubbs, Hunter Alvis; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Louise' Life will be held at 12:00 Noon, September 23, 2020 at Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Pastors Lesly Wilkinson and Charlie Hodge.
