Nancy Jane Lyons
January 22, 1946 - March 28, 2026
Nancy Jane Lyons, wife of Ronald Dye, passed away March 28 at her home in Livingston, TX. Nancy was born and raised in Akron, OH but got to Texas as soon as she could.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Grady and Ruth Lyons, and her brother, Raymond Lyons. Missing Nancy dearly are her husband, Ronnie Dye; children, Andy and Lezley Howell; grandchildren, Cody Shepherd and Jazzlynn Buggs. She also leaves behind her brothers, Ricky and Kenny Lyons, and in-laws, BJ, Gloria, Frank, Donald, Billy and Weezie, along with nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Nancy believed that God had the Corvair invented just so she could meet her husband, Ronnie. She enjoyed sharing their love story with family, friend and stranger. Ron was her love, her security blanket, a true partner in life. She and Ron did whatever they could to make the other one happy.
Andy, Lezley, Cody and Jazzlynn can attest that their Mom, their Grandma, got much joy in providing them with life's essentials and all the extras. Nancy influenced their strong work ethic and their compassion toward others.
Caring about others came naturally to Nancy. One example of many is when she purchased purses for woman displaced by hurricane Katrina. And then there is her love for dogs, always having one or two dogs as part of the family, and donating to those pups who do not have a home.
Ron said that there are so many good things that could be said about Nancy. She spoke words to encourage and uplift others. She was intelligent, compassionate and giving. Who didn't receive a handmade Christmas ornament over the years! She was proud of being the daughter of Akron, Ohio rubber workers. And she was very proud of who Andy and Lezley are; proud of every accomplishment Cody and Jazzlynn achieved, anticipating even more accomplishments in their lives. She enjoyed conversations with her brothers, and reminiscing about their childhood…she was the big sister! What gave Nancy the deepest feeling of satisfaction and happiness was the love she shared with the love of her life, Ronnie Dye. If you did not get a chance to see them together you missed out.
As Nancy gained strength, courage and comfort from her God may you also. One of her favorite hymns was ''It Is Well With My Soul.'' Take the time to listen to it today and be at peace.
In lieu of flowers support your local animal shelter.
