James Alvin Jones, 88, of Livingston, Texas passed away February 28, 2026 in Humble, Texas.

James was born October 3, 1937, in Clay County, Indiana, to Gordon and Ruth Jones. He married the love of his life Eva on March 17, 1960.

He was preceded in death by his wife Eva Jones who he now joins in Heaven, his parents Gordon and Ruth Jones, his siblings; Betty Ruth Jackson, Hershel R. Jones, Bonnie Jean Miller, Barbara June Cottom, and Harold B. Jones.

Left to cherish his memory are his children; Karen Jones Adams & husband Robert, Janie Jones Lerman & husband David, James K. Jones & wife Connie, and Gordon R. Jones, his grandchildren; Kenneth J. Depew, Laura Jones Nguyen & husband Thang, Bradley J. Jones & wife Haley, Christopher M. Jones, Michael E. Lerman & wife Amanda, Ryan J. Lerman & wife Kelsey, Samuel D. Jones Lerman & wife Chelsea, Evarett J. Jones, and Emily T. Jones & husband Lathan, great grandchildren Elbie Jones, Graham Jones, Camile Jones, Everly Lerman, Eliza Lerman, Emerson Lerman, Grayson Nguyen, Langston J. Lerman, and Alessandra Nguyen, along with his sister Beverly Jo Dyer.
