Phillip Wayne Schmuck
December 16, 1940 - October 31, 2020

Phillip was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 16, 1940 to Dorothy Miller Schmuck and
Heinz Paul Schmuck. He passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020.

Phillip was 7 years old when his family moved to Houston. He was a graduate of San Jacinto High School in 1959. Soon after graduation Phillip and his best friend, Lee Broadwater, joined the Army; Phillip went to Korea and Lee to France. After serving three years Phillip received an honorable discharge. He went to work at Baker Hughes Corporation and was there 40 years. He attended many technical drafting classes and advanced at Baker Oil Tools to Manager of the Test Lab. He retired in 2004; he and Jo Ann, moved to a farm in New Waverly where they lived for 14 years. They then moved to downtown Huntsville, Texas in 2015.

Phillip is predeceased by his parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his brother Bill and wife, Eloise, Wife, Jo Ann Shoup, son,* Van Schmuck, step daughters,* Melony Davis and husband Charles, Courtney West and husband Curtis (Butch), grandchildren Braden Thomas, wife Whitney,* Samantha Ward, husband Phil, Dillon Thomas, wife Kathy, Morgan Robinson, husband Braxton, *Stuart West, Emily Schmuck and Evan Schmuck. Also surviving him are great-grandchildren, Charlie, Hannah and Margaret Thomas, Lorelai Thomas and Harrison West along with brothers-in-law, William Shoup, wife Linda and David Shoup, wife Cynthia. He is leaving many friends such as Cliff Mills, Darrell Landry, Bobby Powers, Jim Treadway, Ed Van Sickle, Rick Mitchell, Dicky & Nancy Loughridge.

A Memorial service will be held Friday, November 6, 2020 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church, 1016 Sam Houston Avenue, Huntsville, Tx 77320 936-285-5441
