Clyde Reginald Smith, 81, of Livingston was born April 3, 1937 in Goodrich to Benjamin Franklin “Frank” and Lutie (Cooper) Smith and died peacefully on December 30, 2018 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by both parents, Frank and Lutie Gay Smith.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until service at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Brother Harold Isaacs officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW post 8568 and Masonic rites will be provided by Trinity Lodge No. 14 AF & AM.
He graduated from Goodrich High School in Goodrich, Texas in May 1956. He proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force June 29, 1956 where he trained to be a instrument tech. for The Tactical Air Command and Strategic Air Command, (B-47, B-52, KC-97G and KC-135’s. He was honorably discharged June 28, 1960. He was raised a master mason in January 1965 and currently remains a member of the Humble Lodge No. 979 AF & AM in Humble Texas.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. His first love was his Lord and his Church. His second love was his family, third was his Country and singing Southern Gospel Music. He was proud to be a member of the Ambassadors Southern Gospel Quartet for several years and was looking forward to listening and hopefully singing with the Angelic Southern Gospel Choir in Heaven.
His loving family includes his wife, Sammie (Burchfield) Smith; daughter Teresa Ann Goff; son, Roy Keith Smith and wife Sandra; sister Edna Burghart and husband Fran; step daughters; Teresa Enyart and husband Bryan, Dianna Davenport and husband John; grandchildren; Lindsey Ellisor, Brandon Smith, Zachery Smith, Zane Goff, R.J. Bright, Austin Enyart, Drew Enyart, Kristina Bacci, John Davenport and Tyler Davenport. Seventeen great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or Trinity Lodge No. 14 AF & AM Masonic Lodge, 1907 N. Washington Ave., Livingston, Texas.
Honorary Pallbearers are Brandon Smith, Zachery Smith, Zane Goff, Austin Enyart, Bryce Moore, Daniel Ellisor, Parker Ellisor, Roy Bright, Drew Enyart and Dale Dobie.
