Jimmy “Jay” Wayne Tolbert Jr., age 59 of Livingston, Texas, was born June 9, 1958 in Cuero, Texas and passed away on August 19, 2017 in Livingston, Texas. Jay’s family includes his son, James Tolbert and former wife, Julane Tolbert. He is preceded in death by: his parents, Jimmy Wayne Tolbert Sr. and Sandra Gail Tolbert; and sisters, Tammy Faulk and Mary Gail Neermann. Jay’s lifelong passion was hunting but just enjoyed being outdoors. He also loved fishing, camping and boating. His favorite place was Los Campos Ranch and visited there every holiday he could get the chance. He loved South Texas and the Campos family, whom he considered his adopted family. Jay was a huge fan of John Wayne and western movies. He could quote any John Wayne western every filmed. His favorite quote, and the one that fits Jay the best, is "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them." Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pace Funeral Home. Celebration of Jay’s life will begin at Noon on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Roger Clayton officiating. Interment to follow on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero, Texas.
