While enjoying the peaceful serenity of her home and surrounded by an overwhelming amount of loving hands, Deborah Jean Carson was called to serve a higher purpose on August 16, 2017. Born on November 6, 1954 in Rockville, Maryland. Debbie’s consistent purpose in life was to assist and enrichen the lives of those around her. Her love for animals and nature was unparalleled, and she always made sure to share that love with those around her. No creature which entered her life had anything less than the best love and care she could offer. Debbie embodied the spirit of diversity, compassion, love and understanding and truly made a positive difference in the world in which she lived. Without compare, the greatest fulfillment of her soul came from her work with the future of our world: the young stars who passed through her classroom at Onalaska Elementary School. Over the course of almost two decades, both in volunteer and gainful employment, Debbie had the glorious opportunity to help educate and guide young men and women from both the Elementary and High School campuses into their own path for success. Over the years, her work in mathematics, science, and language arts assistance provided many young adults with the boost that they needed in their life. In her early experiences with Onalaska Independent School District, Debbie had the great pleasure of becoming heavily involved with both the music and military science programs at Onalaska High School. Her tenure as President of both program’s Parent Booster clubs was a successful and enrichening experience for both the students and staff, as well as herself. Her love and passion for the education and enrichment of our community’s rising stars will forever live on in the halls and classrooms of Onalaska Independent School District. Deborah is survived by her son, Buck Carson, niece Alisha Bell, nephew Sean Lowe, sister-in-law Terry Lowe, and the innumerable amount of friends and students who’s lives were touched by her over the years. Surviving family would like to invite all who knew and cherished the incredible life of Debbie Carson to please join together on Saturday, August 26, 2017 for a Celebration of Life at Onalaska Elementary School from 11am until 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please send and bring school supplies to be donated to the faculty and students of Onalaska Independent School District for the 2017-2018 school year. Donations will also be accepted for the Debbie Carson Memorial Education Fund, which will forever be a means to provide our community’s students with whatever supplies or needs they may have while moving through their educational journey.
