Juanita June Babbitt Hancock, born on August 14, 1930 in Woodsboro, Texas to Carl Melton Babbitt and Helen Katherine Kennedy Babbitt, passed away on July 18, 2015 in Livingston, Texas at the age of 84. Those left to cherish her memory are sons, William Carl Hancock and Gary Dan Hancock; daughter, Kathy Unger and husband Michael; grandchildren, Justin Hancock, Cody Hancock, Chelsea Ferguson and husband Cliffton, Jared Whatley and Michael Andrew Unger; 3 great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of dear friends. Juanita was preceded in death by both her parents, husband, William “Bill” Hancock; daughter, Pamela Hancock. Juanita and Bill was married in 1949 in Silsbee, Texas. They lived in Silsbee for 19 years; moved to Taylor, Arizona for 5 years, lived in Orange, Texas for 14 years and then settled in Onalaska, Texas. Juanita was a school teacher for Livingston ISD for 11 years where she retired from teaching in 1992. Juanita was a member of the Onalaska United Methodist Church. She was a past matron with the Order of Eastern Star #1139. Juanita was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Juanita loved her family very much and will be missed dearly. A Celebration of Juanita's Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, Hwy 356 South Onalaska, Texas 77360 with Reverend Rick Tate officiating, along with the Order of Eastern Star #1139 honoring Juanita.
