George Wilton Palmer, 64, passed into the arms of our Lord Thursday, March 5, 2015, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his devoted wife, Robin, and their six beloved dogs following an extended illness. George has touched so many lives over the years, but none more so than his extended family who survives him. His wife of 29 years, Robin, whom he adored beyond measure; his twin brother, John Palmer and his wife Joni; his sister, Cynthia Tucker; his sister Kathryn King and her husband Joe; his brother Charles “Pete” Palmer and his wife Carol; brother in-law Brian Casey and wife Susan; sister in-law Toni Casey. George will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. George was preceded in death by his mother, Eola Leona Palmer and his father Charles Cunningham “C.C.” Palmer; his brother-in-law Charles “Ronnie” Tucker; his brother-in-law Raymond Koenig and his sister, Peggy Koenig. Born and raised in Conroe, George began working with his brothers at their father's gas station at the age of 12. After graduating from Conroe High School in 1969, he attended Sam Houston State University, graduating in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in Business. In 1973, George joined the Texas Department of Public Safety, retiring from his duty in 1997 as a Corporal. It was during his tenure with the DPS that he met his wife, Robin Casey, and they were married in George's parents' backyard in 1986 with both of their dedicated dogs trailing them up the aisle. After serving with the DPS, George had the opportunity to join the Pioneer Aggregate Company and Hanson Aggregate Company in Houston. In 2003, he truly did retire to his life with Robin and their ever-growing family of dogs in their treasured home on Lake Livingston. He was as avid fisherman, a tremendous hunter and a true lover of the outdoors. Every friend that visited George and Robin's home felt loved and cared for, and every stranger felt like a friend. Over the years, George and Robin participated in countless church activities, including The East Texas Emmaus Community and truly devoted their life together to furthering their relationship with the Lord. Services honoring George's life are scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church in Livingston.
